5 Gifts Motorcycle Riders Will Actually Use

Motorcycling has become increasingly popular over the last 20 years. The number of non-road motorcycles has doubled from 4.3 million in 2002 to 8.6 million in 2021. If you know someone who loves to ride, you’ll probably be thinking of getting them something motorcycle-related for the holidays. There are dozens of bike-themed gifts and accessories out there, but there’s a limit to the number of Harley Davidson memorabilia one person can own. So, what kinds of gifts will motorcycle riders actually use? Here are some of the most in-demand and practical motorcycle gifts on the market today:

Wireless Bluetooth Headset

Riding is always more fun in a group. They will need a special motorcycle communication device to talk to their companions on the road. It connects wirelessly to their radio, phone, or GPS so they’re not tempted to pull out their phone while riding. They can coordinate with their peers, share riding tips, or listen to their favorite music to pass the time.

Buy them the Cardo Freecom 4x to get the most bang for your buck. It works as a live intercom with up to four riders for seamless communication. All they have to do is say, “Hey, Cardo” and the app will connect them to their wireless device. It also comes with speakers by JBL for better audio quality that mimics real-life conversations. They’re bound to make friends with other bikers so you might as well help them join in on the fun.

Handlebar Cupholder

It sounds so simple, but you’d be surprised to find out how many motorcycles don’t have cupholders. The attachment screws onto the handlebars to keep their beverage within reach. They will need to come to a complete stop to take their hands off the handlebars, but they can take a drink when they come to an intersection without having to get off their bike. It makes a great stocking stuffer and they’ll be amazed they didn’t think to buy one themselves.

Complete the look with a reusable quick-drink water bottle that doesn’t use a cap. They should be able to grab the bottle and take a drink with only one hand. If they prefer to drive for long periods of time without stopping, you can buy them a hydration pack instead. It’s a wearable water pack that they can drink hands-free. Encourage them to drink water in the hours before they hit the road, followed by intermittent sips throughout their journey.

Touchscreen-Compatible Gloves

Every rider needs a quality pair of gloves to keep their hands warm and dry. However, most riding gloves aren’t compatible with touchscreens. That means the rider will need to take their gloves off in order to access their device, which increases the risk of frostbite in the winter.

Buy them a pair of tech-friendly gloves so they can quickly interact with their device between stops. If they already have gloves or need more than one pair, choose a larger size so they can wear the touchscreen gloves on the outside. The gloves should still come with a reinforced grip to help them stay in control of the motorcycle.

Auxiliary Pack

Motorcycles are notoriously low on storage space. That will limit how far and where they can ride. Taking a long-distance road trip or getting lost in the woods isn’t easy when all your supplies need to fit into a small backpack. Give them an auxiliary pack that fits on top of the tail end of the bike to help them carry around everything they need to stay safe on the road, including a first-aid kit, extra batteries, a compass, and food and water in case they get lost. Without extra storage, they might be tempted to leave these essentials at home.

You’ll need to choose between a hardshell case that screws onto the motorcycle and a soft case with adjustable straps. The former is a great choice if they need to keep valuables secure overnight, but the latter is lighter and easier to uninstall. They can use it as a day pack and take it with them when they park. It’s perfect for carrying sunscreen, motorcycle repair tools, and anything else they need to enjoy their time on the road.

Portable Tire Inflator

No one wants to get stuck with a flat. It’s a common problem that’s easy to prevent. Give them a portable tire inflator that will quickly increase the PSI when the pressure gets low. Having fully inflated tires reduces wear and tear by helping the rubber repel various objects on the road. Carrying around a spare tire isn’t an option on most motorcycles, so they will need to do everything they can to protect the ones they have.

The motorcycle rider in your life doesn’t need more motorcycle memorabilia. They need quality safety gear and riding accessories that will help them make the most of their time on the road. Nothing will enhance their experience like a quality Bluetooth motorcycle headset. Add these gifts to your shopping list to give them extra peace of mind this holiday season.
